Kick Off Meeting
The Kick-Off-Meeting of the project was successfully held in Orebron University. All WPs and individual tasks were introduced and presented, while next steps were organized.

FHNW participates at iStar’23 to network and exchange techniques for runtime requirements, self-adaptation, and evolution of systems and services to meet needs better. The symposium and workshop contribute with new ideas from the research community and feedback on the IMPORTANT approach.

Fourth International Workshop on Requirements Engineering for Well-Being, Aging, and Health

FHNW is participating at REWBAH’23 to network and exchange requirements engineering, personalisation, and monitoring of digital health systems.  The workshop contributes with new ideas from the research community and feedback on the IMPORTANT approach.

31st IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference
FHNW is participating at RE’23, the global flagship conference for requirements engineering research, for networking and exchanging requirements engineering, personalisation, and monitoring of digital health systems. The conference contributes with new ideas from the research community and feedback on the IMPORTANT approach.

Plenary Meeting

In 2-3 October 2023 we held a plenary meeting in Florence, Italy. During these two days of plenary meeting, the IMPORTANT Project partners had the opportunity to showcase the progress made on upcoming deliverables and the extensive preparations underway for the upcoming trial.

MAJOR MILESTONE!!!

The first patient has been randomized, thanks to the outstanding efforts of the IMPORTANT Project’s team in Helsinki led by Prof Karihtala and his dedicated colleagues.

We are grateful for the support of the IMPORTANT project consortium partners and excited for what lies ahead.

Kaunas, Lithuania, 18-19 April
EGRAPA 2024 Conference
Our project partners from @UNED Prof. S Ballesteros et al presented #EGRAPA and @PhysAgeNet conference at Lithuania/ Kaunas 18-19/4/ 2024. They shared their systematic review and metanalysis on the effectiveness of physical activity on psychological and physical well-being in older breast cancer patients.

ESMO Breast Cancer Annual Congress
Our project partner Antonis Valachis from Orebro University and Hospital, Sweden, had the chance to deliver a poster presentation at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer conference. The presentation articulated the details of IMPORTANT project clinical trial.

Athens, Greece, 27 May
3rd Consortium Project Meeting

On May 27, 2024 we held the 3rd plenary meeting at the CocoMat Athens BC hotel in Greece. This pivotal gathering brought together the project’s consortium partners, including clinical sites, SMEs, universities and patient advocacy organizations. The day was packed with productive sessions aimed at advancing the mission to enhance the treatment of older breast cancer patients through a pragmatic clinical study.

Horizon Europe Cancer Mission’s ‘Diagnosis and Treatment’ Cluster

Our project participated at the 1st Annual Meeting of the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission’s ‘Diagnosis and Treatment’ Cluster, that took place in September 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting brought together members from all 12 projects within the EU Mission for Cancer cluster, and IMPORTANT was represented by our own Assoc. Prof. Antonios Valachis, chief investigator of the project.

Our project partner LHUTC Azienda USL Toscana Centro, Hospital of Prato represented Dr. Laura Biganzoli shared the IMPORTANT project’s updates at the ESMO Congress 2024, held from September 13-17 in Barcelona.

European Researchers' Night 2024 - Mission Possible

Our project had the opportunity to engage with a large and diverse audience during its presence at the European Researchers’ Night 2024 – Mission Possible, 18-27/9 2024 Cyprus. The project was represented by our partner Eunomia’s Vasiliki Danilatou and Christiana Markou supported by medical students from the European University Cyprus and Europa Donna Cyprus.

Our own Assoc. Prof. Antonios Valachis, chief investigator of the IMPORTANT project chaired a webinar under the ESMO Real World Data and Digital Oncology – Webinar Series: Cracking the Code of Real-World Data Reporting and Interpretation in Oncology, on the 23rd October 2024.

Our project partner LHUTC represented by Dr. Emanuela Risi shared the IMPORTANT project’s updates at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium December 10-13, 2024!
